Terms of service
Last updated: 22 May 2026
These terms govern your firm's use of getnotaryo. By signing up, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't sign up.
1. What you're agreeing to
getnotaryo is software that helps Philippine notary lawyers manage walk-in notarization workflow. It does not perform the notarial act, does not give legal advice, and does not make your notary's commissioning authority any more or less valid.
2. Your responsibilities
- Maintain a valid Philippine notary commission for each notary seat.
- Use the software only for lawful notarial practice.
- Verify each walk-in client's identity per the Rules — the software supports, doesn't replace, your judgment.
- File your monthly Form 143 reports on time. The software generates them; you sign and send them.
- Keep your TOTP MFA secret safe and rotate it if compromised.
3. Our responsibilities
- Keep the software available with 99.5% monthly uptime.
- Encrypt your data at rest and in transit.
- Notify you of security incidents within 72 hours.
- Honor your data export and deletion requests.
4. Billing (credit-only)
getnotaryo charges no monthly subscription. You pay only for credit packs via BPI / InstaPay QR (GCash returning soon). Once a payment is approved by our team (usually within one business hour), credits are added to your tenant pool. Refunds for unused credits are available within 30 days of purchase, less the pass-through bank fees on the round-trip. Tenants whose credit balance reaches zero remain able to sign in to manage their account, but cannot perform billable acts (notarize, print, file Form 143, use AI features) until they top up.
5. Termination
You can cancel at any time. Your data export remains available for 90 days after cancellation. After that, data is retained read-only for 7 years for archival compliance, then deleted.
6. Liability
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our maximum liability to your firm is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months. We cannot be held responsible for notarial acts performed by your notary — those remain your professional responsibility.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by Philippine law. Disputes are resolved in Cebu City courts, unless both parties agree to arbitration.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. If we make a material change, we'll notify your firm admin by email at least 30 days in advance.
